The Riksbank has decided to issue a commemorative coin to celebrate the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling on 19 June 2010. The coin will be minted in gold and silver versions with a nominal value of SEK 4,000 and SEK 300 respectively. The designer is Ernst Nordin.

The coin will be sold at the nominal value and is not a limited issue. The coin can be ordered from AB Myntverket in Eskilstuna with effect from the end of February 2010, but deliveries will begin in May. It will be on sale until 31 December 2010.

The artist is Ernst Nordin, who is a renowned artist in the fields of coins, medallions and sculpture. The coin is minted by AB Myntverket in Eskilstuna.

The obverse carries a portrait of the bridal couple and the text “KRONPRINSESSAN VICTORIA PRINS DANIEL” (Crown Princess Victoria Prince Daniel), in addition to the date of the wedding, 19 June 2010. The designer’s initials (“EN”) appear to the right of the portrait of the bridal couple.

The reverse carries Crown Princess Victoria’s coat of arms. Below this appears the text “SVERIGE” (Sweden), the denomination of the coin, the initials of the Governor of the Riksbank (“SI”) and the first letter of the place of issue ("S"). Butterflies are also depicted on the reverse, an image representing joy and happiness, and also the bridal pair's future home, Haga Palace.

The coin has a smooth edge.

Die Hochzeit der Kronprinzessin Victoria ist ein historisches Ereignis in Schweden. Zum ersten Mal im Königreich Schweden heiratet eine Thronfolgerin.

In Schweden hat es bisher drei herrschende Königinnen gegeben. Seit zum letzten Mal eine Königin herrschte, sind schon annähernd 300 Jahre vergangen.

Königin Margarethe regierte in den Jahren 1389-1396 und Königin Christina 1632-1654. Die letzte regierende Königin Ulrika Eleonora regierte in den Jahren 1718-1720.

Die Zentralbank Schwedens gibt zum Anlass der Hochzeit von Kronprinzessin Victoria und Daniel Westling eine offizielle Sammlermünze heraus. Die Silbermünze hat einen Wert von 300 Schwedischen Kronen und die Goldmünze von 4000 Schwedischen Kronen.

Die Sammlermünze hat der Künstler Ernst Nord entworfen. Sie wurde von der Prägeanstalt Schwedens, Myntverket, im schwedischen Eskilstuna geprägt.

Myntverket war als Prägeanstalt an allen historischen Wendepunkten des Königreichs Schweden beteiligt. Sie hat eine über tausendjährige Geschichte im Prägen von Münzen und der Herstellung von Medaillen. Die erste Münze wurde im Jahre 995 in Sigtuna geprägt
