Russia series “The General Russian Population Census”

On August 2, 2010 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metals:

- a silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Rubles of the series “The General Russian Population Census”,

The silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Rubles “The General Russian Population Census” (fine metal content 31.1g, fineness 925/1000, catalogue number 5111-0200, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage up to 7500 pcs) has the rim, raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference.

The obverse: the relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - the two-headed eagle with wings down, and the semicircular inscription under it "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed by a circle of beads. The inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin "ТРИ РУБЛЯ" (THREE RUBLES) and the year of issue "2010", between them - the indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, the purity, the trade mark of the Saint-Petersburg Mint and the fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin depicts the relief images of the map of the Russian Federation and state flag and the emblem of the 2010 General Russian Population Census, the last two items performed in colour. The inscriptions – in the center of the coin – “ВСЕРОCСИЙСКАЯ ПЕРЕПИСЬ НАСЕЛЕНИЯ” (GENERAL RUSSIAN POPULATION CENSUS) in two lines and at the bottom – “РОССИИ ВАЖЕН КАЖДЫЙ!” (EVERY PERSON IS VALUABLE FOR THE COUNTRY!).

The edge of the coin is corrugated.

and a commemorative coin of base metals in denomination of 10 Rubles “The General Russian Population Census”.

The description of the coin of base metals

The coin is 27.0 mm in diameter, combined and consists of two parts – a disc, made of white metal and an outer ring, around the disc, made of yellow metal. The coin has the rim, raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated and bears the inscription “ДЕСЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ” (TEN RUBLES) recurring twice and divided by asterisks.

The obverse: In the upper part of the ring - the inscription along the rim: “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), in the lower part - the year of issue “2010”. On the left and on the right sides of the coin, on the outer ring – the stylized images of the bay tree and oak twigs respectively, going over to the disc. In the center of the disc - the indication of the face value of the coin “10 РУБЛЕЙ” (10 RUBLES) in two lines. Inside the figure “0” – a protective element in the form of the figure “10” and the inscription “РУБ” (RUB) - visible by turns when changing the angle of vision. In the lower part of the disc - the mint trademark.

The mintage of the coin – up to 10 000 000 pcs.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
