On February 1, 2010 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metals:
- a silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Rubles, a silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Rubles, a gold proof coin in denomination of 50 Rubles and a gold proof-like coin in denomination of 50000 Rubles, all of the series “The 150th Anniversary of the Bank of Russia”
The silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Rubles (fine metal content 31.1g, fineness 925/1000, catalogue number 5111-0192), the silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Rubles (fine metal content 155.5g, fineness 925/1000, catalogue number 5115-0055), the gold proof coin in denomination of 50 Rubles (fine metal content 7.78g, fineness 999/1000, catalogue number 5216-0072) and the gold proof-like coin in denomination of 50000 Rubles (fine metal content 5000g, fineness 999/1000, catalogue number 5226-0001), all of the series “The 150th Anniversary of the Bank of Russia”, are 39.0 mm, 60.0 mm, 22.6 mm, and 130.0 mm in diameter respectively.
The rim is raised on both sides of all the coins along the circumference.
The obverse of the coins in denomination of 3, 25 and 50 Rubles: the relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - the two-headed eagle with wings down and the semicircular inscription under it "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed by a circle of beads. The inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denominations of the coins "ТРИ РУБЛЯ" (THREE RUBLES), “ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ” (TWENTY FIVE RUBLES) “ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕЙ” (FIFTY RUBLES) respectively and the year of issue "2010", between them - the indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, the purity, the trade mark of the Saint-Petersburg Mint and the fine precious metal content.

The obverse of the gold coin in denomination of 50000 Rubles: framed by a stylized circle - the relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - the two-headed eagle with wings down and the semicircular inscription under it "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), lower, under the Emblem - the year of issue "2010" and the relief images of the State Emblems, used in banknotes’ designs since the State Bank was founded (the State Emblem of the Russian Empire, the Emblem of The Provisional Government of Russia, the State Emblems of the RSFSR and USSR). At the top, over the Emblem – the indication of the denomination of the coin “ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ ТЫСЯЧ РУБЛЕЙ” (FIFTY THOUSAND RUBLES), at the bottom - the indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, the purity, the trade mark of the Saint-Petersburg Mint and the fine precious metal content and the original number sign of the coin “№ ____.”

The reverse: - of the 3 Rubles silver coin depicts the relief images of the page of the State Bank Statutes of 1860, of a banknote, coins and of precious metal bars, at the left side – the inscription “THE 150th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BANK OF RUSSIA” in four lines;

- of the 25 Rubles silver coin contains the relief image of the façade of the Bank of Russia in Moscow with the national flag performed in colour, the inscriptions along the rim: at the top - “FOUNDED IN 1860” and “THE BANK OF RUSSIA” – at the bottom;

- of the 50 Rubles gold coin bears the portrait in profile of the Emperor Alexander the II, the inscription along the rim divided by a star “THE BANK OF RUSSIA FOUNDED IN 1860 BY THE DECREE OF THE EMPEROR ALEXANDER THE II”;

- of the 50000 Rubles gold coin contains the relief images of the portraits of the Emperor Alexander the II, the first State Bank managers - A.L. Shtiglits (1860-1866) and E.I. Lamanskiy (1867-1881), performed in the patterned medallions, of the Saint-Petersburg Regional branch building (1860-1918) and of the griffins, decorating the Bank Bridge in Saint-Petersburg on the Griboedov Canal. At the bottom there is the inscription “THE BANK OF RUSSIA FOUNDED IN 1860”.

The edge of the coin is corrugated.
The mintages of the coins, dedicated to the 150th Anniversary of the Bank of Russia, are as follows:
- of the 3 Rubles silver proof coin: 10000 pcs;
- of the 25 Rubles silver proof coin: 1000 pcs;
- of the 50 Rubles gold proof coin: 2000 pcs;
- of the 50000 Rubles gold proof-like coin: up to 50 pcs.
The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
