Russia in the UNESCO World Culture and Nature Heritage

On April 1, 2010 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metals:

- silver proof coins in denomination of 3 and 25 Rubles, silver proof-like coin in denomination of 200 Rubles, a gold proof coin in denomination of 50 Rubles and a gold proof-like coin in denomination of 10000 Rubles, all dedicated to the Millennium of the town’s foundation of the series "Russia in the UNESCO World Culture and Nature Heritage. Yaroslavl".

The silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Rubles (fine metal content 31.1g, fineness 925/1000, catalogue number 5111-0197, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 10000 pcs), the silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Rubles (fine metal content 155.5g, fineness 925/1000, catalogue number 5115-0058, diameter 60.0 mm, mintage 1500 pcs), the silver proof like coin in denomination of 200 Rubles (fine metal content 3000g, fineness 925/1000, catalogue number 5119-0005, diameter 130.0 mm, mintage 200 pcs), the gold proof coin in denomination of 50 Rubles (fine metal content 7,78g, fineness 999/1000, catalogue number 5216-0073, diameter 22.6 mm, mintage 1500 pcs) and the gold proof like coin in denomination of 10000 Rubles (fine metal content 1000g, fineness 999/1000, catalogue number 5221-0018, diameter 100.0 mm, mintage 100 pcs) all have the rim, raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference.

The obverse: the relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - the two-headed eagle with wings down, and the semicircular inscription under it "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed by a circle of beads. The inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denominations of the coins “ТРИ РУБЛЯ” (THREE RUBLES), “ÄВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ" (TWENTY FIVE RUBLES), “ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕÉ” (FIFTY RUBLES), “ДВЕСТИ РУБЛЕЙ” (TWO HUNDRED RUBLES) and “ДЕСЯТЬ ТЫСЯЧ РУБЛЕЙ” (TEN THOUSAND RUBLES) respectively, and the year of issue "2010", between them - the indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, the purity, the mint trade mark and the fine precious metal content.

The obverse side of the coin in denomination of 200 Rubles depicts the stylized rim along the circumference.

The obverse sides of the coins in denominations of 200 Rubles and 10000 Rubles bear the indication of the number together with the sign “№” at the bottom right near the fine precious metal content indication.

The reverse:

- of the silver coin in denomination of 3 Rubles – the relief images of the riverside station in the city of Yaroslavl and a hydrofoil boat; the inscriptions: at the top - “РЕЧНОЙ ВОКЗАЛ” (RIVERSIDE STATION) and “ЯРОСЛАВЛЬ” (YAROSLAVL) – at the bottom.

- of the silver coin in denomination of 25 Rubles – the relief images of two churches; the inscriptions: at the top – “ХРАМОВЫЙ АНСАМБЛЬ В КОРОВНИКАХ” (THE TEMPLE ENSEMBLE IN THE VILLAGE OF KOROVNIKI) and “ЯРОСЛАВЛЬ” (YAROSLAVL) - at the bottom.

- of the silver coin in denomination of 200 Rubles – the relief images of the architectural monuments of the city of Yaroslavl, its emblem and scenes from historical life. At the bottom there is an inscription “ЯРОСЛАВЛЬ” (Yaroslavl).

- of the gold coin in denomination of 50 Rubles – the relief image of the church, the inscriptions along the rim: at the top – “ЦЕРКОВЬ ИОННА ПРЕДТЕЧИ” (ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH) and “ЯРОСЛАВЛЬ” (YAROSLAVL) – at the bottom.

- of the gold coin in the denomination of 10000 Rubles – the relief images of the panoramic view of the monastery in the city of Yaroslavl, scenes from historical life; the inscriptions: at the top – “СПАСО-ПРЕОБРАЖЕНСКИЙ МОНАСТЫРЬ” (THE TRANSFIGURATION OF THE SAVIOUR MONASTERY), and “ЯРОСЛАВЛЬ” (YAROSLAVL) – at the bottom.

The edge of all the coins is corrugated.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
