The BNB releases into circulation a silver
commemorative three-component coin ‘Gena Dimitrova’

On 2 May 2011 the Bulgarian National Bank releases in circulation a silver commemorative three-component coin ‘Gena Dimitrova’. It will be sold at the BNB cash desks for BGN 109, VAT included.

The new coin is the third of the series ‘Great Bulgarian Voices’ after the coins dedicated to Boris Hristov and Nikolay Gyaurov.

The obverse of the coin features the logo of the Bulgarian National Bank, the year ‘1879’ on the strip, and the nominal value BGN 10 (‘10 ЛЕВА’) ‘БЪЛГАРСКА НАРОДНА БАНКА’ (BULGARIAN NATIONAL BANK) and the year of issue ‘2011’ are inscribed in circumference along the outer ring.

In the inner circle on the reverse of the coin is the image of the famous Bulgarian opera singer Gena Dimitrova as Princess Turandot from the eponymous opera. Written in circumference on the outer ring are ‘ИМЕНИТИ БЪЛГАРСКИ ГЛАСОВЕ’ (GREAT BULGARIAN VOICES) and ‘ГЕНА ДИМИТРОВА’ (GENA DIMITROVA).
