The European Commission has advised that a mintmark is not a mandatory element on EUR 2 commemorative coins. If a mintmark is included, then, it must be used on all the variations of the coin manufactured by the mint. As a result, the Central Bank of Malta notifies that the EUR 2 commemorative coins to be issued in 2022 will not have any mintmark.
