Érmekibocsátás a 150 éves Dohány utcai zsinagóga tiszteletére

Háromtagúra bővült az egyházi építészet remekeit bemutató sorozat

A Magyar Nemzeti Bank 5000 forint névértékű, ezüst emlékpénzt bocsát ki a budapesti Dohány utcai zsinagóga alapításának 150. évfordulója alkalmából. Az érmét az MNB látogatóközpontjában vásárolhatják meg az érdeklődők.

A Magyar Nemzeti Bank 2006-ban indította útjára „Az egyházi építészet remekei” elnevezésű emlékérme-sorozatát. A sor eddigi tagjai:

2006: Esztergomi Bazilika
2007: Debreceni Református Nagytemplom

A mostani érmével a sorozat háromtagúra bővült.

Az érme előlapján a kötelező érmeképi elemek (5000 forint értékjelzés, Magyar Köztársaság felirat, BP. verdejegy és a 2009-es verési évszám) mellett a zsinagóga főbejárata fölötti mérműves ablakminta található.

Az emlékérme hátlapján a budapesti Dohány utcai zsinagóga épülete látható, a Ludwig Förster által tervezett, 150 évvel ezelőtt megépített homlokzattal és a szomszédos épületek részletével. A zsinagóga ábrázolása alatt a BUDAPESTI DOHÁNY UTCAI ZSINAGÓGA 1859 felirat olvasható. A zsinagóga ábrázolásától balra, fent Szabó György tervezőművész mesterjegye található.

Az 5000 forint névértékű emlékérme 925 ezrelék finomságú ezüstből készült, súlya 31,46 gramm, átmérője 38,61 mm, pereme virágszirom formájú, széle szaggatottan recézett.

Az emlékpénzből 10.000 darab készül, ebből 6.000 ún. proof technikával.

Az érme megvásárolható a Magyar Pénzverő érmeboltjában (Magyar Nemzeti Bank látogatóközpont, Budapest, V. ker. Szabadság tér 8-9.).

"‘Dohány street Synagogue" collector coin

On 6 September 2009, the Magyar Nemzeti Bank issued a silver collector coin ‘Dohány street Synagogue in Budapest’ with a face value of HUF 5,000, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Great Synagogue in Dohány street.

In addition to the standard design elements (the denomination: 5000, the legend: Republic of Hungary, the mint mark: BP and the date of issue: 2009), the obverse of the coin features the traceried window above the main entrance of the Synagogue.

The reverse bears an image of the Dohány street Synagogue in Budapest, designed by Ludwig Förster, with the facade built 150 years ago and some of the neighbouring buildings. The inscription DOHÁNY STREET SYNAGOGUE IN BUDAPEST 1859 is featured below the representation of the Synagogue. The signature mark of designer György Szabó is positioned to the left from the representation of the Synagogue.

The collector coin is made of .925 fine silver, weighs 31.46 grams, its diameter is 38.61 mm and it has a petal rim as well as an interrupted milled edge.

The mintage limit is 10,000 pieces, of which 6,000 are produced using the special proof technology.

The coins can be purchased at the coin shop of the Hungarian Mint in the Magyar Nemzeti Bank’s Visitor Centre (Szabadság tér 8-9, Budapest).
