3 Rubles of the series "Outstanding Sportsmen of Russia"

On December 27, 2010 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metals:

- two silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Rubles of the series "Outstanding Sportsmen of Russia" (Figure skating): “I. Rodnina - A. Zaitsev” and “L. Pakhomova – A. Gorshkov”;

The silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Rubles “I. Rodnina - A. Zaitsev” and “L. Pakhomova – A. Gorshkov” (fine metal content 31.1g, fineness 925/1000, catalogue numbers 5111-0206 and 5111-0207 respectively, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 3000 pcs of each kind) have the rim, raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference.

The obverse: the relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - the two-headed eagle with wings down, and the semicircular inscription under it “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed by a circle of beads. The inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin “ТРИ РУБЛЯ” (THREE RUBLES) and the year of issue “2010”, between them - the indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, the purity, the trade mark of the Saint Petersburg Mint and the fine precious metal content.

The reverse:

- of the first coin: the relief images of the skaters I. Rodnina and A. Zaitsev. The inscriptions are: at the top - “А.Зайцев” (A. Zaitsev) and at the bottom - “И. Роднина” (I. Rodnina);

- of the second coin: the relief images of the skaters L. Pakhomova and A. Gorshkov. The inscriptions are: at the top - “Л. Пахомова” (L. Pakhomova) and at the bottom - “А. Горшков” (A.Gorshkov).

The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Rubles “The 200th Anniversary of the Rostral Columns in Saint Petersburg” (fine metal content 155.5g, fineness 925/1000, catalogue number 5115-0060, diameter 60.0 mm, mintage 1000 pcs) has the rim, raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference.

The obverse: the relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - the two-headed eagle with wings down, and the semicircular inscription under it “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed by a circle of beads. The inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin “ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ” (TWENTY FIVE RUBLES) and the year of issue “2010”, between them - the indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, the purity, the trade mark of the Saint Petersburg Mint and the fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin depicts the relief images of the Rostral Columns and the Old Saint Petersburg Exchange building, serving as a background. The inscriptions are: at the top - “РОСТРАЛЬНЫЕ КОЛОННЫ” (Rostral Columns), and at the bottom – “САНКТ-ПЕТЕРБУРГ” (Saint Petersburg). At the right side there are the dates “1810” and “2010” in two lines.
