EURO COINAGE 2016 NON CIRCULATED

This issue includes the collection of Spanish euro coins 2016, limited edition presented in a practical blister numbered, which protects the coins while allowing a perfect view of both sides of them.

This year the collection is dedicated to the commemoration of the fourth centenary of the death of Miguel de Cervantes, the most famous writer in Spanish language of all time. Since the beginning of the EURO currency, already it took into account the importance of the figure of Cervantes to include it in the design of the national face of coins of 10, 20 and 50 cents.

The maximum circulation of this Euroset with coins minted in 2016 is 20 ,000 units.

This year marks the tenth Euroset includes the issuance of commemorative 2-euro coin, dedicated this time to the Aqueduct of Segovia, which has earned the title of World Heritage Site in 1985, along with the Old Town of Segovia.

This issue continues the theme begun with the Order EHA / 3423/2009, of 9 December, commemorative coins to commemorate goods or sites included in the World Heritage List of UNESCO.

On the front, in the central area of the coin, the image of the Aqueduct of Segovia, at the top, in a circular and capitalized play, the SPAIN legend, below, the year of issue 2016, on the right, the mintmark. In the circular area outside of the coin, surrounding all the reasons and legends, the twelve stars of the European Union.

The Aqueduct of Segovia is a Roman aqueduct located in the Spanish city of Segovia. Its construction dates from the early second century, a. C., during the reign of Emperor Trajan. The most visible part and therefore famous, archery is crossing Azoguejo Square in the city center. In the highest part measures 28 meters (nearly 6 meters foundation) and has a total of 167 arches.

The aqueduct carries the water from the spring of Fuenfría, located 17 Km. from the city. The auction is an attic aqueduct through which the water-conducting channel (with a U-shaped section 180 x 150 cm).

It is built with granite blocks without mortar settled between them.
